For men and women alike, the Academy Awards have proven to be a mecca for all things fashion and beauty…and oh yes recognition of cinematic art. This year we saw a lot of glamour on the Red Carpet, which was nothing less than a breath of fresh air. The gowns were gorgeous, each inspiring us to scream, “Who are you wearing?!” For me, though, I also wonder who contributes to the beauty above the neck. What about the pretty faces of the actresses the world loves so much? Stars often have artists come in from one particular line to make them up for Hollywood’s greatest night.
Reportedly for Gwyneth Paltrow this year, it was NARS. Celebrity makeup artist Leslie Lopez took into account the lack of color in Gwyneth’s stunning Tom Ford dress and decided to warm up her face with bronze tones. For a base, she used NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer SPF 30 to even out her skin tone and provide a subtle glow. This was also taken down on her neck, shoulders and décolletage which looked naturally sun-kissed against her crisp white gown. On Gwyneth’s eyes, Lopez used a NARS duo in “Alhambra” to create a golden sheen, then followed that with a brown liquid liner from Maybelline.
For Gwyneth’s radiant flush, Lopez applied NARS Illuminator in “Super Orgasm” to the apples of her cheeks. The look was finished with NARS Larger than Life Volumizing mascara, and NARS Larger than Life lipgloss in “Odalisque.”
Gwyneth Paltrow was a presenter this year at the 84th annual Academy Awards, but in terms of beauty and style she was a winner. She looked positively regal.
